1. Report the complaint to the Americare staffing supervisor by calling (318) 329-1101. Once notified, the supervisor will complete a grievance form and discuss with the general manager and/or administrator who will then investigate the grievance and make all reasonable attempts to address the grievance with the client and/or employee.
2. The general manager or administrator will issue a written report and/or decision within five (5) business days of receipt of the grievance to:
a) client
b) client's advocate
c) authorized representative, and/or
d) the person making the grievance
3. If the grievance has not been resolved at that point, the grievance shall be submitted to the Governing Body of Americare. The Governing Body shall call a special meeting to resolve the grievance.
4. If the client is still not satisfied with the outcome, he/she should contact his/her Support Coordinator for possible resolutions.
5. The client may also contact the Governor’s Council for Elderly Affairs, Neglect/Abuse Bureau, in Baton Rouge, La (504) 925-1700, or mail at P.O. Box 80374, Baton Rouge, La. 70898-0374. The client may also contact Capitol Area Legal Services at (225)387-5173.
